New Fuels, Energy, Materials from Waste, Biomass

Slovakian company Carbon Green announced a new economically viable plan to use pyrolysis to "recycle" used tires.

Cornell University is planning a new waste-to-energy plant which will utilise pyrolysis, anaerobic digestion, combustion, and fermentation.

New York company Clenergen announced a partnership with Honeywell which will use pyrolysis to produce a bio-heating oil from rapid growing biomass -- including bamboo.

Rentech's biomass gasification to jet fuel approach was tested in flight by a US commercial airliner.
